Elita Events invites you to participate in the DOathlon for Life, presented
by the Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association.
DOathlon for Life is Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Walnut Woods
State Park located just southwest of Des Moines.
DOathlon for Life offers:
. 5K Run: Run on the roads and trails in Walnut Woods State Park
. 20K Bike: Challenging 2-loop bike
. 5K Run: Run on the roads and trails in Walnut Woods State Park
. Aid Stations with water and sports drink on the run course.
DOathlon for Life is a member of Central Iowa's Flatland Multisport
Series.

aims to promote healthy lifestyles and overall wellness.

Points will be awarded to athletes competing in the Flatland Multisport
Series based on participation and results. Prizes will be presented to
the male and female athletes garnering the most points at the end of the

ABOUT THE IOWA OSTEOPATHIC MEDICAL ASSOCIATION
The Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association is a voice for osteopathic physicians
in Iowa. There are over 1,000 osteopathic physicians licensed in Iowa.
There are approximately 61,000 D.O.s in the United States practicing in
all areas of medicine from neurology to sports medicine to dermatology
to emergency medicine.
As complete physicians, D.O.s are able to prescribe medication and perform
surgery. In addition, D.O.s have added training in Osteopathic Manipulative
Treatment (OMT), a hands-on treatment tool they can use to diagnose and
treat injuries or illnesses. OMT can be used in conjunction with and sometimes
in place of medication or surgery to restore mobility and function.

All athletes will receive a dri-fit race t-shirt and post race party with
food, featuring Panchero's Burrito's, and beverages at the finish line.
Believe us - we do it up right!
We cannot guarantee race goodies for athletes registering the day before
the race.

Packet Pickup:
Note: You are required to pick up your race packet in person. You must
have a valid drivers license to receive your packet.
Location of the packet pickup will be determined at a later date.

DOathlon for Life is a USAT sanctioned event. All USAT rules will be
enforced.
Rules of Participation:
• Each athlete must produce a photo ID and current USA Triathlon
annual or one-day membership and sign and submit the Event Waiver Forms.
• All athletes must pick-up his or her packet in person. Packets
will not be mailed and cannot be picked up by a person other than the
registered athlete.
• Each competitor must wear ANSI, Snell or CPSC approved helmet
and have it fastened whenever bike is unracked.
• Only participants are allowed in the transition areas. No extra
equipment (additional wheels, helmets, etc.) will be allowed in the transition
areas.
• Use the toilets provided by the race. Anyone caught failing to
do so may be disqualified and will not receive a refund.
This event will be held rain or shine in accordance with USAT Triathlon
guidelines and with athlete and volunteer safety made the top priority.
Refund Policy: No cash refunds are available for any reason. Options:
(1) Entry fees can be applied toward another 2008 Flatland Multisport
Series event if written notice is received at least 30 days prior to the
event; (2) The entry fee can be transferred to another athlete by contacting
race directors with a written or email notice from original registrant
and is received 14 days prior to the event; (3) Entry fees minus a $25
handling fee can be applied toward any 2009 Flatland Multisport Series
event as long as written notice is received at least 30 days prior to
the event of the original entry fee.
